Lonely Girl

Lonely Girl

Ever just the same
The shadows calling her name
She stares at the night
Clutching the dress in fright
Smelling the scent of flowers in bloom
as memories, all around her flood the room

Why is she alone?
For what sin must she atone?
How can she bring it all back?
once so bright, why is it now dark?
She whispers a simple prayer, not for much
Then she reaches out for an invisible touch

A tear falls on her pillow
Her heartbeat slow, heavy with sorrow
she knows to grow she must leave her cocoon
She sighs, soon, as she stares at the pale moon
Tomorrow's light will surely bring a new day
Maybe there'll be someone to meet her halfway

for you!

I love this poem..you oh well I love the both of you! Thanks! :) Heheheh that's so sweet for a minute I thought I was reading a piece of someone's heart lols

I feel the poem though. Hope she gets over him. Hope she learns to let him go, coz if he trully was meant to be he shall return tomorrow and meet her halfway. She shall awaken to a new and different day like no other, full of light and with a song in her heart in gratitude for a prayer answered.

I know how dark memory bells can ring. How tears can fall but with time all falls into place and life moves on. If only we could tell what the future holds then we'd learn to let go fast enough. Only though love is so binding and just as hard as the real comes so is it to let go when over. And sometimes I wonder why I don't believe in it (besides God's love)?? coz its just too complicated, well for me.

Nice poem, I love the depth in the words and the magnitude in them. Lovely piece brilliant thing!

Multo gracias for keeping your word! More on the way..? :)

Happy week!

the gift of words.....
you can feel her loneliness and kinda remorse and second-guessing as to why she has to be alone yet feel her mustering courage to get up and move with as much as a ray of hope that it will be ok. great post.am at a loss for words, you got them all...

this is a really cool poem and the fact that a dude wrote about a girl's experience makes it even cooler! auuui...one of them actually understands us!

...and we shall be many waiting at the halfway bridge for the halway-comers to just move their butts and get here already!
